Shiba Inu (SHIB) is an Ethereum-based altcoin featuring the Shiba Inu hunting dog as its mascot. SHIB is often considered as the Dogecoin alternative and is part of a broader ecosystem including the ShibaSwap decentralized exchange, LEASH and BONE tokens.

The project was created anonymously and a large portion of its supply was sent to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who subsequently burned most of it.
